Loop wire technology
Endless diamond wire saw guide
An endless diamond wire saw uses a closed loop of diamond-coated wire. The loop runs continuously over wheels, helping create stable cutting motion for precision parts and special-shaped applications.

Why endless loop wire matters
The loop design removes wire winding and rewinding from the cutting zone. That can simplify the path and help maintain consistent motion. For many precision machines, the wire joint, coating uniformity, loop length, and wheel alignment are as important as the machine itself.
Important loop wire factors
- Wire diameter: smaller diameters can reduce kerf but need careful tension and feed control.
- Diamond coating: abrasive size and distribution should match the material and surface requirement.
- Joint quality: the joint must pass through guide wheels smoothly and survive repeated cycles.
- Loop length: must fit the machine's wheel path and tensioning range.
- Cooling: flushing protects the coating and removes debris from brittle materials.
Typical applications
Endless diamond wire loops are used for glass, silicon, sapphire, quartz, ceramic, graphite, ferrite, magnets, and other materials where low cutting force is valuable. See Ensoll's related product page for endless diamond wire.
